WhatsApp has its own wallet, separate from SMS credits, in BIF, RWF or USD. Top up the amount you choose; each message is charged at its category rate.

Pricing questions
How much does an SMS cost in Burundi?
Prices start at BIF 35 per SMS and drop to BIF 30 as your monthly volume grows, with custom rates above one million messages a month. The minimum top-up is BIF 50,000.
How much does a WhatsApp message cost?
It depends on the message category and the destination. In Burundi, a marketing template costs BIF 300, and utility, authentication and free-form messages cost BIF 100. In Rwanda, they cost RWF 50 and RWF 15. Rates for other countries are quoted.
Do I have to pay for both SMS and WhatsApp?
No. SMS and WhatsApp are independent and billed separately. Use either one, or both from the same account.
Can I get rates for other countries?
Yes. SMS outside Burundi and WhatsApp outside Burundi and Rwanda are priced per destination. Tell us where you send and your expected volume, and we will quote your rates.
Do you offer volume discounts?
Yes. SMS prices drop automatically as your monthly volume grows. Above one million SMS a month, or for high WhatsApp volumes, we agree custom rates with you.
